>> 2PUTT GT4 Picture Thread <<
Greetings. I just wanted to start this thread to let everyone join my journey with my 718 Cayman GT4. The moderators were kind enough to give approval for this to help centralize my updates into a single thread since there was no dedicated sub-forum to host something similar. I welcome everyone's thoughts and comments.
A Quick Intro
Well, I guess you can say I am your typical gear head. I have owned several cars from BMW, Audi/VW, and MB. I've had multiple chances of owning Porsches but decided to walk away from all of them for several reasons. I guess, like dating, I was just waiting for the right one. My 2 previous cars before the GT4 were an M2 Competition and a VW Golf R. I really thought the M2C was going to be a keeper. It checked all the right boxes...but the GT4 showed up and it just felt right.
The Collection
I will spare you all from the boring details. The original plan was to order one for European Delivery. With COVID and the difficulty of getting an allocation, I just decided to search for one in the US. Finding a GT4 was hard but I stumbled upon one in Pennsylvania (5 hours away). With the wife's blessing, we decided to make the trip into a quick getaway.
Porsche of Pittsburgh was simply amazing! World-class service from the very friendly staff made the entire experience very pleasant. They have a great inventory for a building that looked small from the outside.
Enough of the narration, here are some of the pictures during my collection...
Ordered some Xpel Trac Wrap since I have my preferred detailers that would do the car prep, PPF, and ceramic coating.
We're off...
Fresh off the truck...(Dealer's picture)
Showroom...
I was lucky enough to find most of the the options I was looking for with this car.
Thank you for visiting. More pictures will be shared...Stay Tuned!

Congrats! I was looking to add an M2C. What made you decide to part ways?

On the very good side, the value of the M2C is very good right now. I was able to get much more than what I expected. It was good while it lasted. The M2C was and still is an excellent car.

Welcome! I recognize you from bimmerpost. I had an M2C, only lasted 9 months with it and was ultimately disappointed. I think it's a very overhyped car, fundamentally let down by the S55. Had an E90 M3 before that, would happily own another one.. best car BMW have ever made IMO.
The GT4 is on another level in terms of feel, emotion, and specialness. Can't beat a proper NA engine. Enjoy

Sadly, the deal was that I can only keep one (since I already have another vehicle which I use as a daily driver).

S58(new M3/M4) is way better then S55 if you can live with BMW ugly front.

My buddy who has M4 CS is getting rid of it for gt3 or gt4 for 2 main reasons, one, it easily over heats on track days above 85 degrees and its damn heavy car, 3620 lbs, eats tires like crazy.
congrats on car, looks awesome

Thanks everyone!! I am noticing a pattern from BMW M cars to here.
Here are a few of the pictures from the drive home from delivery day...
Wifey is the ultimate keeper by not only understanding the madness but also helping me out. It took us 1.5 hours to wrap the car at the dealer before we drove off. Porsche Pittsburgh was nice enough to let us do all the work at the showroom floor.
Her permission to buy the GT4 + all her help with the Xpel Trac Wrap = Porsche Tax...
(The mall was 11 miles away. I figured she was going to get at least one if we did Euro Delivery anyway.)
The dealer inquired if I would like to take delivery with a full tank. They informed me that the car had over half a tank. I told them that they can skip the fuel and to just keep the car tucked away. Stopped at the first rest area on the PA Turnpike for some dinosaur juice!
(Notice the Trac Wrap hanging?)
One final stop for refreshments since I was getting tired...I was going to join some of the Teslas charging to the left side of the car just to bother them.
The rest was a boring drive home. The recording of our drive through the PA Turnpike tunnel was uneventful since I was still following the break-in procedure.
Maybe next time...
