Default Radar Detector Recommendations?

Hi All,
First, really sorry to hear of the stop sale impacting some of you...My CGTS is scheduled to start it's build around April 2nd...
While I'm waiting and obsessing....am planning on a 3 day road trip to break it in from LA to our Seattle home and thought a top rated radar detector is probably a must-have.
Since Porsche doesn't offer these as standard equipment (they should!), can those that have them chime in with their thoughts and recommendations?
Much appreciated!

I went with the Uniden R7 on sale for $375 on Amazon. According to this its at the top vs the Valentine V2: https://www.vortexradar.com/2020/03/...en-r7-v1-gen1/

Look at vortexradar.com as mentioned.

I have a V1 Gen 2. When paired with V1 Driver or YaV1, you'll enjoy it. If you don't want to pair it to a phone/app, look at Redline 360C or Uniden R7. When Radenso releases Theia, that should be the best out there, but probably close to $1k.

www.vortexradar.com is your friend here and he is a local Seattle guy. I just picked up an Escort Redline 360c but it could be a stop gap until the Radenso Theia comes out depending on how their marketing claims translate to the real world. Also likely to add laser jamming from ALP soon. Well...as soon as I get the car which could be a while now

Interested in the R7 and how to hardwire it. I have the auto dimming mirror so there's power near by. Any ideas?

Uniden R7: detection range is crazy. Use in conjunction with waze.

Valentine V1 Gen 2 all the way. Been buying Mike’s products since my Escort in 1979 and have had at least 1 V1 since 1989. I think I upgraded that first V1 6 times until I traded it on a V1 Gen 2 last year. We own 2, I move mine between the Porsche and my truck. My wife’s stays in her Tesla. I bought hers as a Christmas present in 2002 when we got married and it’s been upgraded twice, if you don’t count the trade-in.

Mike let the product wane a bit until the mid 2010’s then started to add features and design the Gen2. Had he not come out with the Gen2 I might have ventured into an Escort or Uniden, I’m glad I didn’t.

There is a thread on the 718 side with pics, super easy to go in the roof console where homelink is. The housing even has a notch in back for the wire. Blendmount has a good wire kit for the R7 and others.

I went with the Uniden R3, blendmount, and hard wired to the fuse box in the passenger footwell. Works great.
