Stop Sale on 718 GTS, Spyder & GT4
#2611
Took her home today (GT4-US)! I'll edit this post and provide the timeline from wait list to delivery so folks can at least get an idea of my timing experience. Also, I recommend asking your dealership, once your engine comes in, to allow you to take the car in advance of the sticker arriving if it has not arrived by the time the car is otherwise ready. It doesn't hurt.
Edit: Short timeline
6/03/20: Went on wait list
11/25/20: Received allocation
1/08/21: Build locked
3/15/21: Car delivered to dealer/Stop sale
8/19/21: Took delivery

Well, I got the call from the dealer today! The engine has arrived and they will start the work tomorrow. I am planning to come out to see the car and the process on Saturday to take some pictures.
This is an undelivered, but at the dealer, US CGTS, commission number E36510, V250 1/15/21, and V300 1/29/21.
I hope many others start getting the call soon!

8haggis’s order was early relatively speaking. Hopefully this is signaling an order of repairs to the order of commissioning. My own stats are E39316, V250 1/25/21 and V300 2/09/21. At this time, My GT Silver CGTS is making the Jacksonville Port a bit more classy

*Forgive the dirty garage. We just finished a reno and it was formerly a car port which could definitely use some cleaning.

sorry for this noob question but what is the "sticker" you guys are refering to when the engine arrives?
#2620
The term my dealership used was the "VIN sticker." How it was described to me is: it's the sticker for your engine that ties it to the VIN. I suppose the reason Porsche wants to hold the car until the sticker arrives is to avoid a situation where you take the car, swap the engine, and come back to get a sticker slapped on that engine and try and claim it's warrantied. I will note, dealers appear to have discretion on this point (whether to release without sticker).

I have been lurking this thread for a while now and decided to post since I got the call that the engine destined for my CGTS was at the dealer and the install starts tomorrow. I did not order this car, it was ordered by someone else who abandoned it and I reserved it about a month ago. It is one that arrived to the dealer and there is a BGTS next to it that I believe is also getting an engine next week. (There were two engines on pallets when I was there on Saturday for visitation.) While I was there, a GT4 left with its new engine, so it seems some progress is being made rapidly all of a sudden.
I believe the build date for it was late February but I don't have all of the milestone dates since it wasn't my order. It does sit solidly in the middle of the vin range for the CGTS vins in the NHTSA notice.
