Does someone know what size spline is required to remove the steering wheel?

12mm XZN Triple Square Spline socket.., and if you are doing it right a new bolt to replace the one you remove as they are considered 'one time' fasteners.

just an FYI/PSA ... having an MF wheel "on track" can be a PITA ... since you might inadvertently push one of the buttons (like I did recently in a Turbo S) and end up with the car asking you for your voice cmd in the middle of a fast lap at the 'Ring!

it did not seem to comprehend "F*** off - I'm busy"

YMMV

Speaking of Black bits for the steering wheel I am once again able to get the airbag trim rings for those that want to make theirs Black instead of the Silver they come in, which goes great with those that have Black inserts.

And now you just need to do the ring on the airbag (and crest)!

I found it impossible to paint the silver trim ring, at least while it is still on the wheel, so I found a replacement: https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1309724

I first did it on my last P-car and did it on my current Spyder:

I recently took delivery of a new 718 GTS and wanted the smaller GT Wheel + Multifunction + No Silver Bits. I also kinda hate the faux bolts. Replaced the silver GT parts, with black non GT parts. I think it looks perfect for anyone that wants the smaller wheel, multifunction, plus the blacked out look.

If anyone wants my silver GT pieces, they are up for sale here too: https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1311628

Now you just need to replace the silver airbag trim ring with a black one!

I literally have a spare ring sitting here on my desk, but just can't bring myself to have the nerve to dig the silver one out of my brand new leather airbag LOL.
