Does the GT4 A/C always turn on when car starts?
Somebody mentioned on Facebook that for the cars with the standard A/C, when turning the car on the A/C also starts and there’s no way to disable this? Someone please tell me this isn’t true.

I can speak to cars equipped with the memory function. If one has the memory option and sets memory settings to the key it will recall the climate settings whenever starting the car. It only does this for the key memory, not the 1 and 2 memory buttons. I have only had memory on cars with auto climate control, but the user manual doesn't make a distinction so I'm guessing with manual climate control it would just put the climate settings back to wherever they were when stored on the manual climate controls. This also applies to some comfort settings in the gauge cluster as well. I kept forgetting to set the memory on my spare key and every time I got in the car with my spare key settings like the reverse mirror titling would be wrong.

I know you asked about standard AC, but data point for dual zone is that it stays in the last position.
Don’t think the GT cars have memory function...

my AC always turns on when i turn on the car, regardless if the AC was an of off before i shut down the car. Very annoying. Doesnt look like there is a way to turn this off or bypass it. I wonder what the reason is. Stupid IMO
i have dual zone FYI

Another way to make you spec dual zone? Just like track app won't work unless you spec nav and can't get alcantara visor unless you spec ambient lighting, Quite annoying but this is porsche.

My a/c doesnt come on automatically. I opted for the free (non dual zone) climate control. In US

Remember that the AC also dehumidifies the air, which helps your heater defog your windows faster / better, so having the AC "on" doesn't necessarily mean cold air is going to be blowing in your face in the winter—if that's what folks are worried about. Plus at startup the air from the vents is going to be the ambient temperature no matter what. Most modern cars I've been in will typically use the AC year-round, so I don't think this is anything to be concerned about.

If you have the memory function turned on it stores the AC settings to the key fob. If auto memory is turned off it uses the key fob setting stored with the number "3" key memory. If the outside temperature is below 36 F the AC compressor will not run.
