Let's not get over excited. It's a fun little thing, and rally specials are fun but it's not even close to the GT4. You could argue that the 718 GT4 cane out in 2019 however...
I enjoyed the review overalI. I differ with him on the clutch weight, it honestly seems feather light to me.
PS Richard (author). It's not a 4.0L turbo as mentioned in the early description.

It is quite a bit heavier (I like it/it's perfect) than my previous M3, GT350 and ZLE clutch's.
Maybe he is comparing it to others brands that have gone really light on clutch pedal effort?
The review doesn't surprise me at all. Every one of my previous BMWs was disappointing overall (M or not). I don't get why they can't figure out suspension tuning on any of their cars lately. Either too soft, too harsh coupled with odd/bad damping characteristics. The S55 has always been very peaky and runs out of breath quickly on top. So yah, not a big shock he picked the GT4.
I had an m2 for 2 years between a 991 GT3 and 991.2 GT3 RS. I’ve had other bmws in the past as well. They’ve always underwhelmed me on driving. I wanted to love the M2, but didn’t. In all honesty, I missed my Audi S4 more, and felt like it had the far superior suspension.
