Have the 18-way seats gotten more comfy?
About three or four weeks ago, I sat in 18-ways in a 2018 Cayman S (I think...it was a Cayman, but I can't remember which one), then went out to a 992C and sat in the 14-ways just to compare the seats. The 18-ways felt REALLY stiff and fairly uncomfortable. Granted, I didn't spend a ton of time adjusting them, but I even noticed just getting in and out of the car that the ridges at the sides of the seat pressed pretty hard into my legs.
BUT...
Today I test drove a GTS 4.0 that had 18-ways, and without any adjustments they felt MUCH more comfortable, to the point where I thought they were 14-ways until I realized they weren't.
Is it possible that Porsche has modified the 18-ways that much over the last year or two?

I had the exact opposite experience recently when I went by my dealer and sat in a 718 Boxster S with 14 ways and, surprisingly, found them to be comfy and really fit me well. Previously, the 14 ways felt like I sat on them rather than in them, and the upper sections pinched my shoulder blades and pushed me forward. These felt great. Then I jumped into a Carrera with 18 ways and they felt much less comfortable than I remembered in my last Spyder. These felt too stiff and the upper section too narrow. Irrelevant to me, since the LWBS fit me great, but it was odd based on my experience.

But the 18 ways in the '21 GTS 4.0 felt much more comfortable than the 18 ways I sat in the 2-year-old Cayman.
As another person pointed out in this thread, it might have been due to one being ventilated and the other not (I honestly don't remember if the ones I sat in a few weeks ago were in fact ventilated).

The difference is that I, until recently, felt the opposite. I felt that the 18 ways were more comfortable than the 14 ways. Now I think the 14 ways are more comfy. I can't imagine that ventilation makes that big a difference in the seat.

I had 2 GT4s side by side, one with 18 way (981) and one with regular sets (718).
Both felt exactlly the same, the the standard seat is slightly lower in the lowest position by about 30mm.
Almost never used any 18w adjustment, so did not get it the next time around.

I had the exact same experience when I had a Spyder with 18ways and a C2S with 4way SS+, which is basically an 18way without the adjustment. The seats felt basically identical, with the 4way feeling just slightly lower in the car at its lowest setting. I preferred the 4ways simply because of the manual fore aft slide, which made it so much easier to get in and out of the car quickly.
