Are we looking at satin platinum and silver wheels here? I’ve seen a few of the GT4 / spyder rims with satin platinum and I feel it is a bit too dark for my tastes - it looks lighter on these rims (not sure if that is true or not).
Upper pic is platinum.
When you say you’ve seen platinum and it’s too dark, are you talking about pictures or in person? Because pictures sometimes make platinum look much darker than they really are.
Buzzlulu; FWIW I just took delivery of my GTS 4.0 a week ago. The dealer down here has a good relation with the PPF shop which is less than a mile from the dealership, so no long trips for the unprotected paint. I live in a very rural area lots of backcountry roads and state highways not too much interstate driving. I can pretty much drive all year round down here.
I had the front bumper and full hood and full front fenders, mirrors , headlights, rockers ( from the bottom up to the seam just above the side intake vent) rear wheel arches and valance behind the rear wheels. I also had the windshield done in Wincrest, it is 10 mils think and does not require any special care other than mild soap or ammonia free glass cleaner. It cured super clear and looks like part of the windshield.
I think getting your rockers done would be a good idea. A shot of the car just before picking it up at the PPF place for the 80 mile drive back home, no way I was gonna drive THAT far with all the micrometeorites zooming about on the road. I think even for a weekender PPF is worth it on as much of the car as your deem necessary. These new metallic paints which have an ability to look different in various lighting environments are just about impossible to touch up convincingly IMO. Others may know more...

I’ve seen the GT4 / Spyder rims in person, not the GTS rims. I asked my SA if the colour “platinum” is the same on all rims and he said that it was. I agree, the photos are deceiving. I hope to see some platinum GTS rims in person before my order is “frozen”. Currently I’m going with silver and yellow.
Had a Spyder on order but decided to get a Crayon Boxster GTS instead primarily because of the wife’s reluctance to manhandle a manual roof as she will drive the car a lot. Didn’t much care for the std GTS wheels so went for the Carrera Sport wheels to match my Cayenne GTS. Car arrives early 2021.

Yes, the upper pic with the guy with the ugly mug ordered platinum. These are some pics from my old car with "wheels painted in platinum satin". Different lighting clearly.
Very, very nice. l love the color choices, especially that blue top!
Congratulations...
Much appreciated! I wish digital pictures could capture Chalk better; it’s much richer and more dramatic in real life. I wasn’t sure how the graphite blue leather would work with the blue roof and the Chalk exterior, but I am quite pleased with how it all came together.
