Just get a Dodge Challenger Hellcat or something like that, and leave Rennlist in peace.
On a more serious note, the video is mostly just a guy looking for excuses to not like the car. The interior's the same as the GT3, brakes are the same, front suspension and steering is the same, top speeds in each gear are roughly the same as the manual GT3, and the chassis is easier to control than the GT3. The GT3 engine revs higher, sounds better, and makes more power. A GT3 also cost substantially more when new, and a used manual 991.2 GT3 still costs much more than a 718 GT4, at least in Canada.
Maybe you'll like a GT4, maybe you won't. It's personal preference what you want in a car and how you perceive a car. We can't tell you how you'll feel about it. The GT4 is all about the chassis balance, controlability, and having the right amount of power to be fun on the road without hitting jail speeds too quickly. It's fairly quick, though obviously there are cars that are faster in a straight line for less money. The GT3 gives you a more exciting engine (more revs, more power, higher pitched sound), but is slightly bigger and heavier, and it has different chassis behaviour due to a different weight distribution.
The GT4 is plenty fast for most, but if your focus is on maximum acceleration for your dollar, get an American muscle car (or Tesla Model 3 Performance - essentially an American muscle car too, albeit a different kind of muscle).

There is such a thing as too fast to be fun, and here's what I mean......
The thrill of acceleration has to be of sufficient intensity and SUFFICIENT DURATION for maximum enjoyment. If you happen to be at an airstrip, and can just keep going and going in your modded 911 turbo S, then fine. However, for the real world, where your acceleration runs will be brief and may top out at 60-90mph, a car that does it too quickly just won't impart a thrill of sufficient duration to your body or brain. The fun will be over way too quickly. I think the sweet spot is a car that does 0-60 in the upper 3s. This is fast enough to impart a real acceleration sensation, but long enough for the acceleration sensation to actually last an enjoyable amount of time at speeds that won't kill you on public roads.
Hope this makes sense.

GT3 is much better than the GT4. If you truly are cross shopping these cars there is no question in my mind that the GT3 is a clear winner. It is more powerful, sounds better, more lively, comes in a Manual and is more special to drive. I had a 981 GT4 and currently have a 718 spyder. I also have an M2 competition. The M2 feels faster than the 718 spyder probably due to the torque/turbo. It is a hoot to drive and kick out the back end and drift. Mine is my DD so it’s DCT. The 718 spyder is a more special car. It is fast and better quality built. It is more stable and more precise. My exhaust is stock and it’s not that great. I prefer the fake sound of the M2 M performance exhaust that I have which tells you how much I dislike the spyder sound. However, sound is subjective and many like it. If I was you, and I’m not, I would pick used manual GT3>>GT4>M2.

500hp Spyder is really nice to have (actually I do wish we got that epic fixed tappets 4.0L engine in 718 Spyder/GT4), but not mandatory in order to enjoy this car. The wow factor is totally different than having your friend in 911 turbo with 650+ horses and funny facial expression thru 1st& 2nd gear WOT.

LOL Porsche underpowered question seems to pop up now and then. I remembered in 2009 I dumped 2007 Mercedes E55 AMG for 997.2 C4S, I got flamed and laughed at for downgrading almost 100 HP, 200 torque on Mercedes forum. 11 years later I am still doing the same and choose "underpowered" Porsche over other high HP cars, hence the soon to be GT4. I am so accustomed to the feel and dynamic of Porsche last 11 years it was difficult testing other cars in the past because something was always missing during those test drive. And there is something special revving the NA flat 6 past 4000RPM to redline, for me its addicting. I am sure my soon to be GT4 will not disappoint and as it will be major step up to what I am accustomed to. For me I can see GT3 in my future to continue my evolutionary Porsche experience. Like many others had stated, Porsche is like a drug for some, once driven it is hard to drive anything else. Even my wife is slowly understanding that.

John,
I couldn’t agree more. Having owned and driven Porsche’s of all flavors for 40+ years there’s a certain “DNA” imprinted on every one of them that delivers a driving dynamic that resonates with some people. I hate the term “resonates” but in this application it’s the only word I can come up with. It’s not a fanboy thing, it’s real for some of us. For others BMW’s, Mercedes, Lotus or, heaven forbid, Corvettes trip that feeling so it’s all relative and it’s all good.

This will be my first Porsche and I'm coming from a 630hp tuned C63S AMG. I had a 507 edition before that and both cars were a blast to drive but it made me want a MT. I live in an area with some winding back roads that are perfect for driving a manual Porsche. I doubt I'll miss the extra hp that much but I'll probably add hp where I can with a few mods. Since I don't have much experience with Porsche and this platform, I can only imagine these cars with 500hp would be bliss.
I'm looking forward to the experience.

Once you get yours, let me know your thoughts.
