Default Afternarket wheel choices for GT4?

Anyone purchased aftermarket wheels for the car? Seems like the choices are very limited. Curious to know what aftermarket choices folks have gone with, ideally something solid quality and not too expensive for a winter wheel/tire set

If you want the lightest possible 20" wheels then you go with either the HRE R101LW or the BBS FI-R in GT4 sizes.

HRE R101LW:
  • F: 20.8.5 = 16 lbs
  • R: 20x11 = 19.4 lbs
BBS FI-R:

F: 16.8lbs 20 x 8.5 size
R: 18.5 lbs. in 20 x 11

O.Z. Leggera HLT - available on TireRack with pre-mounted/balanced winter tires + TPMS. Cheaper end, pretty light weight, OZ is a decent brand.

I hear that Apex may be coming out with a set targeted at the GT4 and GTS.

HRE guaranteed for life. I know. I cracked some after 15 years of track use and got a new set of 4 no questions asked. BBS warranty 90 days.

Do a search, there's another thread on this. Lots of options, forgeline seems to be the best value (quality vs. price).

I had a set of custom RT88’s made by BBS. It uses the LM lip with the E88 center.

I called Tire Rack and they still said they don’t have any winter wheel/tire sets for the GT4. Do you have specs?

cant go wrong with either HRE or Forgeline IMO ...had both on previous 991's and very happy with weight, design and quality.

How about a set of second hand stock rims? Keep the OE look and probably by far the cheapest route.

not a bad idea but no weight reduction... if these are for track there is a lot to be said for a l/w forged wheel ...

Yep, Forged One FF10's from Tire Rack, but what I did was to make these my summer set with the Maxx Race 2 tires and install RE980AS on the OEM set for the rest of the year. Watch out for the TPMS sensors though they are still 433 MHz but not the same as a 981/991...

As for expensive, that is your personal definition, the other wheels mentioned so far are great choices but hardly inexpensive!

Thanks for the heads up on the TPMS sensors. Do you have the part numbers/description for the correct ones? I ordered a second set of wheels and want to make sure the sensors they install are correct.

Thanks
