I think you'd need a professional automotive upholsterer to R&R the the seat back in order to cover or paint it...

You mean, they can't just spray paint and coat the seat backs with the rest of the seat just sealed/taped off?

I would reach out to Exclusive Option and see how expensive it would be on the 2 ways.

I wouldn't use Plastidip on something in your interior. I've never seen an example in real life where it doesn't look pretty underwhelming, even when done by "professionals". For the random exterior part / wheels its less of a concern since those will see a lot of abuse anyways.

A wrap done prefessionally (or with a couple of trials and errors by you and a friend) has more chance of looking OK than plasti dip. plastidip is great for badges and wheels but I would not use it on a large relatively flat surface because it's really hard to get even coverage and it will look like a bad spray paint job. Plus the wrap is easily removable if you get bored or wants to change the look. Seats are easily removable (4 bolts and 1 plug underneath). I dont know how the back meets the seat but if you can insert thin object you could tuck the wrap underneath.

i HATE the sliver backs. Currently have the leather backs specced to solve but I think a decent matte black wrap would probably get the job done for less.

The 2-way seats in my 996 GT3 come with seat-backs painted in exterior color which used to be an option. I wonder why they don't offer that as an option any more. I think it would be a widely chosen option especially on Boxsters and Spyders. Also don't understand why the leather seatback option is only offered for the 18-ways and not for the 2-ways. The clam-shells look identical.

Yes, a professionally done wrap or spray paint + clearcoat seem like much better options than plasti dip.

Hey, you’re trespassing in my plastidip thread, and acting as if you owned it no less! Though I could sell it to you for a low, low price, lol...

Since I have a coupe and not a convertible, I can't say if automatic climate control works or not in a convertible, but it works well in my coupe and glad I don't have just toggles to increase/decrease fan speed and heat. As someone who daily drives my GT4, auto-dimming mirrors is a must as I do drive at night. If yours is just a weekend car, then it's probably not necessary. Finally, regarding the visors, assuming you are in the US, you'll have those awful airbag stickers on the visors. Even if you take the time to take it off, it will leave some residual. My recommendation is to order the Euro style visors and replace them after taking delivery. It's not hard to replace, but will be completely clean. See https://rennlist.com/forums/718-gts-...l#post16881208 for how it looks after I installed them.

And 18-ways are a big no for me mostly due to the added weight of all those motors. Both 2-ways and LWBS fit me perfectly so the choice for me is between those two.

Looks like no one has tried the Plasti Dip way.
I've had good success using PD.
Mask the features well
Apply in thick coats
Enjoy
Peel it off later.
