4MIDABLE - Build thread
Well kids...the day has finally come. Picked up the car 7 hours ago and just got home. This is my first Porsche as I have been kicking the can down the road for a number of years now, telling myself that is was too extravagant a purchase for a mere mortal such as myself. But as my (cough) 50th birthday loomed on the horizon, I had a sudden bout of YOLO and I visited 2 local dealers last fall to see about getting into the brand that I had lusted after since I saw the film Risky Business back in the 80's as a teen. As many of you will recall the car in that film was the 1979 Porsche 928 and in my mind there was nothing that could touch that car. I wished so badly that the Oldsmobile (remember those!) my father drove could somehow be magically transformed into that 928. Since then I have always been interested in the brand, but never thought I would actually ever be in the position to own one. Well never say never. A few pics from today. See how many mods you can spot...i think there are 10 or so. One mod I was disappointed not to have completed in time for delivery was the install of a carbon fiber steering wheel I purchased. Apparently the wiring harness (specifically for the air bag) was outdated, so I need to source a new one. Should have that done in a couple of weeks. I have a few other mods planned as well. I know my mods will not be to everyone's tastes, and I'm ok with that b/c I like them.

I love your vanity plate! Easy mods to spot is rollcage (Cantrell?) and risers as well as front plate holder. Lowered?

FIRST Porsche?
Wow, a deep bow in your direction.
Many of us pick a pre-owned car to ease into the addiction!
I love the GB and the license plate.
Edit: and that car is SO not Canadian! Well done, you're a real pioneer in the Great White North!

I’ll play your game.
Front license plate mount, cage, rear reflector tint, seat inserts, clear side markers, custom plates, wing riser, driver side harness. Assuming PPF.
So if that’s right, I see nine. Curious what the tenth is.

1. Wing Risers from @RSNV
2. Clear side markers from Suncoast
3. Smokers pack retro fit from Suncoast - extremely annoyed about this one as I was not made aware of exactly what this was when I spec’d the car - EVERYONE should spec the $0 option
4. Car is lowered 10mm (aligned and re-corner balanced)
5. Seat inserts from P1Designs
6. Roll cage painted in Guards Red from BBI Motorsports
7. Underseat harness mounts
8. Schroth racing harness (drivers side only for now)
9. Tow hook mount from US Millworks
10. Vanity plate (which was very popular with the guys at the dealership!)
More to come as the car will head in for PPF early next week...
Thanks to everyone for the positive comments. Now out to do some more driving!!!

4midable...car looks absolutely KILLER. Everytbing ties together so we'll. Huge congrats!!
my car just landed and I so happy I did options 1 and 2 on your list. Regarding lowering the car, any issues so far?
I would like to do that too, but will be putting the car on a transport truck...wonder if it will be an issue with clearance.will have the ppf shop do it since they do modifications as well.
this will be my first porsche also. Have lusted for one for most of my life.
Enjoy in great health!!!

Could you post a picture of the seat cushions? Let us know how dropping it 10mm is for daily dips and driveways, it seems stock alignment is pretty safe per @ISPYA718 , but been wondering what 10mm lower would be like.

Interesting, my first Porsche was also a brand new black 987 Boxster S but all other Porsches bought since then have been used. Oh, and odds are that you will never be Porsche-less again. Your GT4 looks gorgeous in GB with aurum wheels. Congrats!

Great build spec. I like the Aurum and Gentian combo... makes Gentian a little edgy. Nice tie in with the roll bar and calipers also.
How are you finding the US Millworks plate holder? Any specific feedback from the experience so far? I am trying to decide on what brand of plate holder to go with.
