Of course you can - that's why it's silly to put a ceiling on NA power. There are many times when it's useful/fun/exciting to let your foot deliver more than 300hp (on the street and on the track) and other times where you don't need that much. Having a choice is good...
My car has 500hp. Would I be just as happy with 300? No. Would I be happier with 600? Probably...
