I took a $50k, 2.74%, 48 month loan from Porsche Financial on July 18th.

Ironically I've been working at a large bank for 13 years, and the same bank rejected my application because it was my first car loan (otherwise excellent credit)!

I was offered 2.26% through Porsche Financial but they still couldn’t beat my credit union, so I went with them. But decent rates are out there.

Wow. Looks rates have gone even lower than early July.

When I bought my M2, BofA as a platinum honors client offered me 2.99% on a loan after discounts. The dealer got me 1.9%......... Through BofA. Banks. How do they work?

Porsche was almost a solid 1% higher than BofA for me. Dealer wouldn't go lower. Didn't buy outright because I wanted to put the cash in PGX / PFF / VWEHX / etc and earn on the burn-down.

Check Porsche Financial again, they were offering 1.95% on a 60 month loan.

This. I carry debt so I can keep my cash in things that make me money.

just got pre-approved by AAA for 2.54% with auto pay. (You don’t have to be a member to apply but it probably helps). Happy with that unless PFC wants to beat it but not counting on it. The less I have to speak with the Dealer finance manager the better.
