After going through the process with my 981 Spyder, 100% agree with you! Especially now that the price has more than doubled. Compared to all my other Porsche’s it had the softest paint! So easy to scratch. I guess that’s what Ceramic coatings are for. Just drastically different. Going with Miami blue this go!

Another thing to mention that hasn’t been discussed yet... Porsche will block certain colors to protect them... Prime example was Sport Classic Grey... it was launched on the 997 911 Sport Classic and was banned from usage for several years... and wasn’t allowed until the same year Chalk was launched. Not sure what the banned/off limit colors are now, but that list will more than likely coincide with any special editions that haven’t been announce yet. Example the Heritage addition 992 Targa... Porsche has already stated they have 3 more coming within the Heritage concept.

I would love to see a PTS 981 in Gelbgrun to get a flavour but it eludes me so far on Internet searches. Might not exist.
There are two known Gelbgrun (yellow-green) 981 GT4s. I maintain the PTS database for the 981 GT4. Here is some pics of one them that was recently sold.

Lizard and Gelbgrun are definitely different.

here is the current info on all known PTS 981 GT4s:

Lizard and gelb grun are virtually identical except for the price. I am surprised that PAG did not make them different.

I wish Python was on there too for comparison. Viper looks the closest to it. I don't see why anyone would pay $10k more for a different green. Porsche is giving us a PTS green freebie with Python.

Whoever specced that car was a genius.

Edit: I'm supposed to be the first in line for PTS at my store. I'm pretty sure I know exactly how it's going to be specced.

thanks
Not sure why seat belts or the steering wheel won’t go through, I assume that is a configurator error and have your dealer call and find out. Those should have nothing to do with PTS as they are not paint related and assuming you choose an color offerred factory, it should be no issue (you can’t do custom seat belt or center strip on the steering wheel colors absent insane costs via CXX).

For the rest, you have to ask for CXX which carries a premium over the normal cost. You can do them assuming CXX is available and they are approved.

Meaning the new and delicious "Cherry Metallic" won't be an option for 'custom color?'

How about a fancy PTS Guards Red at a $13,000 discount?

I hear it is a historic color...

Can anyone confirm if you can get the Headlight Cleaning Covers and Supplemental Safety Bars in your PTS color on a Spyder?

Have your calipers painted (not by Porsche) lizard green and that would really rock!

I think you have to go through CXX when you spec pts for those parts.
