Interesting, now a tire choice for the Spyder?

Mine came with dunlop maxx race 2 made at the end of 2019....but another spyder got newer cup2 in the same shipment. Interesting Dunlop treadwear is 80 and cup2 is 180. I wanted cup2 mostly because they are highly regarded. Honestly for street driving, u don’t need something this sticky. Will never get enough heat in them to perform at optimal levels.
I think most people who buy a car like this will probably hit the track once so this is where they should shine. but if you really pushing lap times, the alignment needs to be more aggressive to match the tires’ effectiveness.
Everyone has different expectations for their tires. Personally I won’t be driving enough to cheap out on tires. I will even run trofeo R on the street for the occasionally track day.
I read recently there is another option, Goodyear tires.

So Dunlops huh, that is interesting, a few coming into the US... but mostly Michelins.
If they do have a tread wear rating of 80 you won't have them long enough to worry about!

Very nice in Miami Blue, @FASTRKMAN will be impressed!
Nice Macan GTS in back, we have a Macan S as well.

Were the Bridgestone's you had on the GTR RE98AS or full on winters?
The reason I ask is the RE980AS are more of an all season tire not a snow tire like the Pirelli Winter Sottozero II that is also available in the GT4/Spyder sizing and although I have had these, I don't need full winters any more.

I found that traction with my summer tires was better even at 5C in the wet. Only on snow and ice the Blizzaks outperformed the summer tires.

Burning Brakes
Any updates on which tire(s) will be offered? I ticked the box as I'm soon to pick up a set of 981 GT4 wheels with relatively new Cup2's.

I'm wondering about the High performance option for the Spyder not the Ultra High performance Cups or similar.

My 718 GT4 came with Dunlops.
I was disappointed at first as I'm a big Michelin fan but they stick like crazy.
Surprised at how planted the car is at high speeds in the rain.
No complaints other than the issue mentioned above with Cup 2s as well, they're very sticky tyres so they grab and fling any gravel they can find.
