The Official Black Color Thread
Hi guys!
So I’m curious why black doesn’t seem to get much love. Just wondering what others see/don’t see.
Personally, I have ordered my GT4 in black and absolutely love it.. the only other color I was thinking of was chalk but wished it was a darker shade or two.
FYI here is my build.. black with yellow accents throughout!http://www.porsche-code.com/PL1GY2X0

Nice, very nice. Black is sharp but a PITA to keep looking clean. On my last black car I did a paint correction, added PPF, and put a ceramic coating on the PPF. Was super easy to clean.
Like the spec, other than you didn't option the buckets.

After seeing 911_Joe’s pictures I’ve become smitten with the color. I figure that if I was going to have a mistress she’d be a pita, so as of now I’m all in for black.

I contemplated black with yellow accents also but finally went with GB since I find it diificult to keep clean and the black accent/details dont show as much. But I will be jealous when I will see a black one for sure!

Black is like crack. Feels so good at first, but over time it just destroys your soul.

Seems
most people just have an aversion to keeping it clean? My last Porsche (981 BS) was black and I didn’t mind it as it was garages and not a daily driver.. which would be the same here.
Bit I’m talking purely esthetics here.. where do we rate it vs chalk for example? I do agree in some light the black hides the details but I also have seen pics such as this where it looks FasF (don’t ask what the stands for - simply read ‘good’).

I stray and then get pulled back in every 5-7 years or so. My wife begged me to spec the Spyder/GT4 in black, she thinks it is THE only color for a Porsche. But I just couldn't do it this time. I'm sure I'll pray at the altar again someday.

Black is on an entirely different level than chalk. Chalk is a cool fad, while black is an epic journey/life long term commitment. A timeless religion that requires complete devotion and gives moments of extreme pleasure in return.

This is the picture that almost had me back in black, but I was able to fend off the monkey.

Might be your last too
If you've never had a black car, ask yourself this: how obsessively do you clean your current cars? Because having a black one is going to amplify that a lot.
You either hate or love black, there's not really an in-between.
