US Exhaust Sound

I went the opposite way and sort of regret it. Had/still have a deposit on a 718, but when specs/pricing were revealed, I was a little underwhelmed. Then a 981 speced almost exactly like I wanted became a available locally, and I went for it....missed out on the while "first owner" experience.

I saw that video about a week ago and almost posted it on here, but knew that I'd just be called an 'apologist' again by the brap brap crowd. It sounds great.

I agree. I thought the top of second had a noticeably sharp rasp to it. Overall, I thought it sounded very Porsche. If that's what the U.S. cars sound like, there is nothing to worry about. And worth noting, the FL plates mean it is almost certainly a press car so I doubt there is anything aftermarket going on.

Didn't someone on here from the US sell his car on BAT right after he got it because of how bad he thought it sounded?
I realize it is all subjective, but wonder if there are is any video of US based 718 and 981 GT4s in one video for direct comparison.

I was following that BaT auction. The seller did say that. He also said he never exceeded 5k rpm. So who knows. The car had 282 miles on it... I mean, who decides they're not keeping a car based on sound before going through the first tank of gas? Either way, assuming the sound in that video of the yellow GT4 is legit, I think it's going to sound great.

My point is it's subjective and it would be nice to see some comparitive videos with both generations in one video (US cars).
