So the Start/Stop button does indeed disables the "cylinder deactivation".. very good news indeed. The droning sound when its running on 3 cylinders is not comfortable at all.

In Europe it remains manual for emissions, but in the US auto start stop once pressed off, stays off.

Yes, i can confirm that. Never had a car here in Europe, witch remember Start/Stop setting.
And just checked my GT4, need to press button every time you start the car.

yes half the cylinders deactivate at low load crushing speeds for better fuel efficiency . The information is out there because I’ve read all about it and even informed porsche salesman about this feature that even some porsche representatives have zero knowledge of ! I own one and I knew this before I ever test drove one .

Incorrect for a US GT4. I have to press about 5 buttons every time I fire up the car. One thing BMW did right: the M button.
