Update, still have not seen the car. When it arrived in VA the airbag light was on so Carmax sent it to my local Porsche dealer. I don't know if this is a result of the airbag capacitor recall/software update or, as it was explained to me, a change was made by the former owner to the passenger seat occupancy sensor.

Another question, are there any known emerging, recurring/persistent problems I should be aware of?

Isn't there a transmission recall for certain cars, is the problem? Haven't heard about the strut towers.
