my SA may still have an inbound 6MT car CGTS at MSRP? finding an open allocation at sticker will be tough i think.

Goodluck, last time I talked to my Sales guy in Porsche. He said that Cayman's are discontinued. The only one they have is a Boxster GTS 4.0 that is 15k over MSRP.
I ended up buying a "Used" 2023 GT4 with 205 miles. Just 26 K over MSRP

Even though you paid over MSRP.. you'll like the GT4 better.. nothing wrong with Cayman but very plain looks next to the nicer front/rear spoilers.. a little more oomph..better sound and sharper/sportier handling... plenty comfortable for DD driving too

Unsure how they define “launch”, but probably still 1-2 years of current crop left.

Hard to imagine they drop the GTS line.

Would this mean there would be GTS models up to 2026?

I've been looking into getting a GTS before it goes full EV, from most of the info I gathered it pointed towards 2024 MY being the last one. But with your info this would be completely different.

The dealers are pretty much saying that the GTS 4.0's end after December 2023 production, and that all of those Allocations have been given to the dealers. Most of those allocations seem to be already sold, or ordered as dealer spec'ed cars. November builds have already frozen, and December builds are freezing soon. So very little opportunity to spec your own left, and for a few months there will be dealer spec'ed ones showing up in dealers.

This makes me sad, as the 718 4.0's are my favorite car ever, and this is the end, forever. Thankfully, I did get the chance to spec my dream Cayman GTS 4.0 Manual spec and I am building that out now into a perfect build for me to keep and enjoy for a long time.

I think they will continue with the Base, Style Edition and S models for a while, overlapping with the launch of the Boxster and Cayman EV's late next year, and continue the GT4 RS and Spyder RS through next year sometime.

I do believe they will do a limited run of a Cayman R as per that other rumor, an RS without the wing and with a Manual, as the last hoorah of the ICE Cayman. I have no inside information to back that up, but it just makes so much sense for them to do so. But it will be a limited run and thus unattainable for mere mortals. So maybe I just need to buy another GTS 4.0 and do the DeMan 4.5L conversion as a proxy for that.

While @IL_Pete , and I are Chicagoland friends, we have different dealer connections. In my case, the two dealers I have relationships with are echoing the same thing about GTS4.0 dropping (but also acknowledge ALL unconfirmed--because I annoy them about doing a PTS car if allocations continue).

For better perspective, my belief is the 992.2 is going to drive-the-bus on what happens with 4.0L models in the 718. My very loose reading in the 992 forum hints that the 4.0L motor could be moved into the base 992...if they do that, it's 'THE END' for the 4.0L in 718-land. (Much more money for Porsche to sell a 992.)

To wrap-up, if the 718 4.0L is the forever car for you....please reach out to Mr. Peacock and let him put something together for you. (And I have no financial interest in typing that suggestion.)

Had a store reach out to me yesterday with a CGTS4.0 allocation that just opened up due to a client backing out. Freeze date is 10/19 and delivery ETA is 1/12/2024. They are asking 15k over MSRP but they will work with me, I'm sure.

Question Build your GT4RS email

I assume most of you received the email From: Porsche <info@porsche.us> Sent: Friday, September 29, 2023 10:23 PM regarding building your own GT4RS. Does this mean they are now taking orders for RS's, anybody know? I built one on the configurator but it would not display a price or give an option to move forward. What's up???

Wonder why they are bothering with it simply for marketing, it's not as though no one knows about it???

I know there's been talk about this but this is the first confirmation I've seen outside of here that the ICE Cayman and Boxsters will continue along with the new electric one for the USA. https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a4...c-718-overlap/

There's still a chance I can get a CGTS 4.0 at MSRP!

It says that other parts of the world not affected by the regulations would continue sales. I wonder if this also applies to third world countries where car sales are tiny in comparison to USA.

were you successful? I am talking to one dealer in SoCali, but they are trying to drop some ADM on me. BGTS 40 allocation at MSRP with spring ED is what I am after.
