I understand reducing emissions but why oh why do the regs have to dick around with the sound of a car? Honestly I don't get it.

Because studies have shown that road noise has adverse health effects, second to air quality but nonetheless significant. A large portion of the population lives in areas that are noisier than desired due to road vehicles.

I like a loud great sounding car as much as the next guy (on here) but you wouldn't find many people voting against stricter noise regs in Europe.

The new noise regulations could really put a damper on new Ferrari sales, part of the Ferrari magic has always been how great they sound.

I spent a week in London this past fall in the Knightsbridge area right at Harvey Nichols and I can understand why noise regulations are desired over there. Supercars raced from stoplight to stoplight at maximum noise levels all day long. Lambos, Ferraris, AMG's screaming full throttle for 40-50 yards, stopping, rinse and repeat. Over and over and over. In a way that our local police would never allow.

Sounds to me like that's a more law enforcement issue than anything. If my Spyder with valves open is driving around in a quiet neighborhood - it's my fault and not the Spyder's. I am an idiot therefore I deserve to be punished and not my machine.

Problem with those rich douche bags down in London racing light to light is because...well they are douche bags and they are ruining it for the rest of us. Take it to the track!

Might be, but I think the guys I'm talking about would just pay the tickets. They looked like that type!

No. I think it's a paddle shift racing tranny like in the cup cars. This is the new GT4 Clubsport.

Better. But not best IMHO. For my type of use, nothing beats a true manual transmission. Granted, I can't shift as quickly as the car in that video.

It will more than likely be this:
GT4 / Spyder = Manual and PDK (maybe)
GT4 ClubSport = PDK only (just like the 981)

Then implement the Swiss method... which is to fine a percentage of your annual earnings instead of a fixed fine.

It sounds "bad"! For the first time, I am thinking it is turbo! At least that GT4CS. The car was on the limit; and, completely lacking aural drama! For homologation reasons, the street version should have the same engine as the track model? I don't think it is NA. If it is, judging by this recording, I don't think I would want it!!
