Lightbulb Ordered Alibaba over axle pipes for GT4

I ordered the alibaba OAP's. Here are the Alibaba Pipes i ordered

I just look at the heat shielded ones like flat 6 and i cant tell any difference.

Also there's little to no documentation of anyone doing this on here.

I kind of want to prove to the rennlist doubters that china whitelabel parts are the same as the USA slop like flat 6 that i'm convinced is just this exact alibaba part rebadged.

China is very good at manufacturing contrary to popular belief and the idea that a back alley welder in the USA is somehow a better choice just because you paid more is crazy to me.

That's pretty much what it looked like to me - you just got some extra hardware with the Flat 6 ones. Please let us know how it works out - I'm not buying any parts until I know I have a car (CGTS on order)...

Agree and alibaba even has the option for one with the additional hardware as on the flat6.

The only difference is the minimum order quantity is 2 and it cost a little more unless you order a bunch, Alibaba OAP's with flat6 hardware

Just added a link in my original post.

Also would like to add i payed $437.46 out the door. Flat 6 wanted $1,868.74 Out the door and that's on sale with $100 off!

Will post pics when it arrives, then again when i install.

If the engine explodes i will delete thread and submit warranty claim to porsche corporate.

I was so close to doing this last month, ended up working with a local vendor here in CA on a cash deal for 1200 only because I could see and touch before purchase. They claimed they bought from the same place as flat 6 but would not name...I believe they are all getting them from China. Either way I am happy with the end result, car sounds great.

Chinese OAPs on a German car? Cool!

Do OAPs really change the tone no matter where they are made? I thought not after some research even although they may be a cost effect solution to increase volume which can be accomplished by disconnecting the vacuum lines which costs nothing.

It’s not like these are a highly complex engineered part… as long as it fits and is well welded it’ll be fine.

I just installed these on my 2021 Spyder - the fit was perfect and the quality looked great as well. They sound awesome with the valves open!

surprised you would buy them without them telling you where they got them from...

You guys got me interested, especially after changing my oil last time.

So I’m doing my oil change and I take a look at my OEM headers on the fairly stock 4.0:

right?

Installed over the weekend. Easy fitment. I didn't have to buy two sets. Ended up at $523 w/ shipping and taxes. I don't have direct experience with what looks to be the same pipes sold under brand names - and I suspect none of the people that bought those have direct experience w/ the Alibabba/Aliexpress sourced pipes either - but they fit well, are good quality, and likely perform the exact same function. The welds are clean on both sides - indicating the manufacturing process backfilled the pipes w/ argon during welding.
