If the decal was all rectangular without a curve it would be easy but I do think I could do it myself with some triple measurements and blue tape.
It is good to hear you were happy with your $30 per sticker. Any chance you can post a picture of your car with the $30 decal?
I had full front PPF on my '14 Boxster S that I sold this year, averaging around 5k miles/year. It was worth it to me to have it as there were plenty of instance of gravel hitting car that I'm confident would have been paint chips. There was also a large dump truck that started to swerve in to my lane and their tire just barely contacted my passenger rear view mirror just as I swerved away from them. The only damage there was to the PPF which was easily replaced. For my GTS, which will likely be a 2500 mile/year car, I'm sold on value of PPF. Oh, and my 10 year old PPF still looked shiny and new when I sold the car a few months ago.

That is a great point. Thank you.

Does the PPF look as shiny as bare paint? I know there is gloss and matted PPF.

Vinyl stickers require no special skill to install (unlike window tint, and PPF), so if you take your time, you'll probably do a better job than any dealer. I've seen them different enough on each side to notice. Only the factory has templates, as far as I know. Like you said, just position it exactly where you want it, use blue tape as a guide, measure everything twice (or thrice), and you'll be good. Oh, and I'd use OEM myself.

That is my plan. I saw some measurements online. I may also try to measure at my local dealership.

Just install it the way you want. If you notice the car you posted, it doesn't look right to me. The rear of the decal (where the door curves up) there's no space. That does NOT look right to me. I'd leave the same gap from decal to door edge all around. So basically, I'd push the decal forward a little, and just cut the excess at the front (or wrap it behind the door). In fact, I'd probably decrease the gap, but it's a matter of personal preference. I wish I could get my decals in the trunk, and install them myself (sans the front piece).

Thank you. I leaning towards it without the part on the front bumper but the picture is just what I need to decide.

Hey, you did a great job with the install; the spacing looks as good as it could be. That's exactly how it should look. I doubt the factory does it that good. Ha ha. If the spacing is wrong on my car, I might remove them. Are those OEM decals or not? They look legit, but if non-OEM, the material might be of less quality, and fade sooner, or start coming off easier over time.

I have a red one that I bought from Suncoast that I won’t be using, as well as a red hood stripe in case anyone was looking for one

Is the lettering red and the rest of the decal transparent to show the car color? Why did you change your mind about using it?

The entire decal is red, so the lettering and the striping. I ordered a chalk Cayman GTS 4.0, and bought a bunch of accessories including the decals. During the order process (before lock) another car came up so I cancelled the order and ended up with a bunch of parts that wouldn’t work with the new car. I was out of the window to return to Suncoast (they have a very strict return policy and probably wouldn’t have take any parts back anyway), so now I’m stuck with a bunch of stuff I can’t use 😂 I’m too lazy to sell stuff online.

What car did you end up with? Could you post a picture of the door decal? How much are you looking for in price?

And let us know which goodies you have. Folks here might take them off your hands at a good price.

7 years, 10,XXX miles and more track weekends than i can count and no fading or peeling. it's a sticker, it's not rocket surgery, worry not.
