I have seen GT4 scoops screwed in place presumably from factory, but you'd have to remove the panel to do that. Most people use double sided tape on the TRAILING edge instead of the screws. This is usually secure enough.

Reason: Trailing Edge

I have not received mine yet but above are pictures of the new 718 GT4 scoops and I don’t see any screw holes or places to screw them in on the 718 scoops. The original 981 GT4’s were screwed in from the back and the entire lower body panel had to be removed. Anyone that has already converted/added the new 718 scoops to their car, please let me know if I am correct or not. Thanks
From what I've researched, the 718 GT4 scoops just snap in. Porsche changed the design from the 981 generation for easier installation. Probably due to a lot of complaints from the manufacturing line.
Both side intakes feed air to the radiators for the coolant going to the intercooler...
Thanks! Good to know.

Let me know how they work because I just ordered mine as well.
Thank you! The 2.5 CGTS is a pretty capable machine, I think too many people sleep on it. The scoops just arrived from Suncoast, I'll let you know how the install goes!

Thanks! - I got the OEM scoops, hopefully Porsche knew what they were doing

Correct, the scoops with the inner black part snap in. You don't need the screws, I believe only OEM GT4 cars come with the screws. You can see on this guys post, 3 screws: https://www.eyeofthekiger.org/post/2...-scoop-removal
If you are doing any high speed work it is advisable to use 3M narrow double sided tape on the trailing/back edge, instead of the screws. You can read more about GT4 scoop retrofit here: https://www.718forum.com/threads/gt4...d.20500/page-7
My experience. Installed factory 718 GT4 scoops on 2018CS. Used the clips only. Did my high speed test loop which combines semi-smooth surface, decent lateral Gs and a “straight” where triple digit speeds are reached. The scoops started to separate from the bodywork on the rear section. So they certainly scoop plenty of air! I added 3M thin tape as shown above in donR post. Ran test again a day later. Scoops still wanted to separate along the trailing edge. You can see the locations on the factory scoops where the T20 Torx self tapping fasteners are to be used (*the raised square areas). I’m going to get the factory screws and install them before my next track event (anyone have the part number for these 6 screws?). I think for street driving the screws aren’t needed, unless you live in Nevada

Very good info about the three screws. Thanks for that. hmmm... Wondering if there's a way to fasten the scoop without having to take off the whole panel.
The scoops pictured above are aftermarket Carbon Fiber scoops that require tape to hold them to the car. Look at the CF lines on the scoops.
The scoops pictured below are 718 OEM GT4 scoops that fit together and no tape or screws are required (I’m pretty sure) …. Mine are ordered and should arrive soon.

@cbracerx@donR@OldJedi@spdracerut@Cyclman Thanks to all for the input, really good stuff, as I mentioned before, my scoops were just delivered this weekend, I'll definitely be sure to update everyone on how I install them. Looking through some more part diagrams I did notice that there does appear to be an "air inlet bolt" (trust by verify ). @cbracerx I know you posted a part #, which I'm sure works, I was just looking for a local supplier
A few other, mostly good, updates. Weather was still hot, not as muggy, but I did not get the dreaded inadequate charge air issue - maybe it was just too humid last weekend. Either way, no turning back, the scoops are still going on. Also I grabbed some pics of the GT4RS front spoiler blades in the wild. In isolation, they are a bit hard to pick out, but next to the GT4 bumper, you can really see a difference.
Hiding amongst other GT4s Pretending to be a 4RS, hope they don't notice me
To the bad-ish. I've been looking for some rear brake cooling solutions. I know, I know, PSM and PTV make a big difference here, but I still wanted some rear cooling. I know the GT4RS has air guides but I was looking for something more substantial, this is why I went with the RSS arms so I could use the 997 rear cooling ducts. Well, they fit on 19s, 18s ... not so much. It's a bit hard to see but the rim rubs the duct, significantly. It made a hole in the duct essentially rendering it mostly useless. Back to the drawing board - I'll have to look for another solution or just 3D print it ...
Need horsepower weather!
Other than that, good weekend. Times were ok, still a bit off my PB, but the weather is not cooperating. Back on track this week (did I mentioned I'm a track junkie?) it's supposed to be a bit cooler, we'll see what happens. Lastly DBJ wing is supposed to ship this week, we shall see, but I'm excited to get that sucker on! Thanks for reading y'all!

^This is not the correct self tapping screw for the scoops.
This is:
Interestingly, despite the empirical evidence on 2019- GT4 models having the screws used, the latest 2020 GT4 parts diagram does not show the screws or tape (the above is from the 2016 GT4)
Huh. Interesting about the newer GT4 parts not showing the screws or tape. Maybe a cost cutting measure. Save on parts and install labor. Maybe they figure if the back edge just comes out a little bit but stays attached, most owners won't notice. Or they updated the clip design a bit?
They were definitely screwed in on 2020 GT4’s, pictures were posted, but were they screwed in on 2021 to 2023 GT4’s ?? The above diagram does not seem to indicate that.
To be honest, I was a bit surprised by how crappy the packaging was. The wing looks to be VERY solidly made, the packaging, however, was terrible. I hate to say it, I've had $500 ebay wings ship in better packaging ... ok, I've never purchased an ebay wing, but you get my point. No bubble wrap, usually the edges are protected with the foam pool noodle looking things - this was just essentially wrapped with the thin foam paper stuff you see in the upper right hand corner of the picture, one layer of it.
Anyway, enough whining by me. I'm super excited to get this wing on. Back on track in a few weeks!
