I had AAA for over 20 years, and when I called for tow service it only covered first 2 or 3 miles only (forgot exact distance). I cancelled it because my insurance's road service covers 100% towing cost.

I had a flat outside of Dallas. AAA couldn’t find a tow truck, Porsche Roadside wouldn’t pickup. Puncture was too big to plug. Everything was closed. Lucky to make it off the highway. Probably damaged the rim. By chance, my track shop was hauling my track car back from ECR and would be coming my way in 4 - 5 hrs. Had them swap out my Cayman in their full trailer and drove the track car back to Austin. All that trouble because I didn’t have a stupid spare. We buy generators in case we lose power. We buy track insurance in case we crash. We likely have security systems with camera’s to watch the house. But we don’t need no spare in case we have an unrepairable puncture? That’s what separates the men from the boys! No risk, no opportunity to look at yourself in the mirror and wonder what the hell you were thinking.

This appears to be for the 718 and 981 GT4 and Spyder. Wondering if it will fit on the 718 GTS 4.0? I have emailed Suncoast to see if they know.

Another question: where does one put the punctured tire and wheel? I'm guessing it will not fit in the frunk or the "runk."

Happy Easter,
TT

Porsche Roadside Assistance, smartphone, and healthy credit cards solve all problems.

Had a catastrophic blowout returning from parade last year. Porsche RA flatbed’d me to an OPC, on my way in a couple hours.

Yes, that GT4 spare *should* fit the GTS 4.0 cars. I like that this spare fits unsecured in the frunk, but I'd also consider using a hood protector (link here) to ensure that the hood isn't damaged if you slam on the brakes and the spare launches forward in the frunk.

If that spare kit was $500 it would be a no-brainer to me. But at over $2,100 by the time you add the hood protector and the tax, I'll take my chances with AAA Premier and/or my basement-stored extra wheel/tire from Tire Rack for under $300 (see post #8 above).

The only place a flat tire will fit is on the front passenger seat or in the trunk with the rear cargo hatch not fully closed. Worse-case, you could probably find a home or business that would hold onto the wheel/tire for a small convenience fee until you return with another vehicle to retrieve it (I'd give someone $20 when I left the wheel/tire, with the promise of another $20 when I retrieve it).
