Default 2018 GTS Manual - Difficult To Put In Reverse - Short Shift Kit?

Hello,

I have a couple day test drive with a 2018 GTS Manual, and I notice its very difficult to get into reverse gear. I also noticed the shift **** looks lower than other photos online so I'm thinking it has short shift kit installed. Does anyone else find it requires an extreme amount of strength to put into reverse or is something wrong?

Extreme force? No, but it takes more pressure than the other gears.

Acquired skill. It’s less an issue of force than finesse. I’m about 1/2-way there after ~2800 miles. Initially it was harder.

I'm with the OP, but only 140 miles driven so far. I'd love to benefit from any finesse recommendations you can offer.

I ended up pulling the shift **** up a bit, making it taller. It makes it easier to put it in gear because of more torque from the length.

I have a base 718, and have always used two hands to put the shifter into reverse...I know. I'm a wuss, but still, works for me....

Just sort of throw it over with good pressure. If you massage it, it won't frequently not get through the gate.

Double the amount of force it takes to get it into 1-6, which is just a little extra effort. They do that so it is not too easy to grab R vice 1.

It's over to the gate, then down, then over and up, right? I've gotten it into reverse, but it hasn't been easy,

Use a swift motion against. the right side of the shifter to get it through the gate (pushing directly to the left), then up. No need to use excessive force; just a swift motion.

Excellent advice thank you. Smooth as butter since I took it.
