Default Need Help - Stuck OAP Stud

so I ran into some trouble trying to install the Soul valved rear section muffler. I am using the stock OAP's and decided to remove the studs and use the Soul hardware, using the double nut method. It seemed really tough to get it on while leaving the studs in place.

Of course the last one got stuck, and I can't get it out for the life of me. I assume the threads are now pretty buggered up in the OAP. Any advice on getting this out, and if I should drill out the hole after and use the nut and bolt ?

I tried leaving the one stud but couldn't get the muffler to line up that way

Apply penetrating oil and wait a day?

Apply Heat (carefully)?

Huge Vice Grip directly on the lug?

You can do it!!

To get the muffler in place with factory studs, or in your case stud, loosen the studs at the header end of the OAP to drop the filter end down. I did this and use all the factory studs with my soul rear section.

Thanks for the advice everyone, still working on it. It doesn't help that I have bad arthritis. I ordered a stud extractor which I'll try today otherwise I might have to bring it to my shop (with no muffler)

Maybe take the OAP off the car to get good heat on the offending stud?

Will heat do much, as there is no rust? The car is practically new, and I think it's stuck because of bad or damaged threads....either way, good idea to take off the OAP, it would certainly give some more room to work

Yes, heat will help. Could be some high temp thread locker at play. I'd heat it and maybe even drop a little lubricant into the joint, after heating.
