Default 9m Performance 718 lightweight flywheel

Within the science of making a car go faster whilst there is little new to be learned there are often items which are overlooked. Whilst increasing engine power is the obvious choice of the masses, reducing power lost in the drive train is always an effective way to get something for free which does not compromise the integrity or reliability of the engine. Step forward the lightweight flywheel. A dictionary definition of a flywheel is a "mechanical energy storage device" - the heavier the flywheel the more energy the flywheel will store. But more importantly for us, the lighter the flywheel the less energy (read power) it requires to accelerate it to speed, so for any given engine power, with a lighter flywheel more of that power will end up at the tires to accelerate the car harder in any gear.

Made exclusively for Ninemeister the features of the 9m Performance 718 LWF are:
CNC machined from carbon steel billet
45% reduction in inertia compared to stock dual mass flywheel (6.2kg LWF vs 11.3kg DMF)
Direct replacement, same clutch kit
Increases wheel power
Improves acceleration
Improves throttle response
Speeds up- & down-shifts due to faster rpm matching
£695+VAT & shipping (no VAT for export outside of EU)

What you say is correct, however, the purpose of the flywheel is to help reduce engine vibration caused by the power stroke of each piston. This is why they are heaver, inertia is your friend here for a smooth running engine especially noticeable at lower engine speeds. A light weight flywheel will improve all the things you say but at the cost of higher engine vibration for general around town driving, its simple physics. For racing its great and if that is what you are primarily using your Porsche for then it will help provide an extra edge. For me, and I suspect most, Porsche owners your car is used around town most of the time and for those of us who occasionally go to the track you may not have the honed skills to really take advantage of this extra power, so this is not an option that I would want. They look nice as well.
