Thanks, Bucket. Waiting to hear how it works for you, B Grif. Great weekend at Sonoma 2 weeks ago. Motor put our a lot more power. OAT was 65 degrees and oil temp never over 230. Month before at Laguna OAT was 85 degrees. Oil temp got up to 252 and she was pretty doggy after 2 laps as oil temp came up.

Thats a good looking pan!

We've also been very curious of how much heat soak the oil system is taking on due to the exhaust running along side it. Our Headershield product seems like a perfect fit for this. We've put it on everything from street cars to Indy Lights and even the new Ford GT factory race car exhaust is standard with it with great results. If anyone is interested in giving it a try to get some feedback lets talk!

We also have good Black Friday pricing on our 718 deep sump pans right now. The next batch is being machined now and will be ready to ship shortly.

Damn, should have waited for Black Friday sales, that’s some significant savings. Car is getting the oil pan installed as we speak.

I’m happy to chat with y’all about the exhaust wrap. Track day is December 12th and I can grab some data with just the pan and see what it’s like with the exhaust wrap on the next track event.

Hope they grandfather you in on that dandy discount! BTW, where do you track your car that temps have been an issue? Look forward to your report from the field!

I have an idea to work out a deal that I feel he'll like.

Grif, PM inbound.

Mighty nice of you, BRS. Would you have any specific numbers on the oil temp drop your pan brings to the 718S? Mr. Tatum said he was happy with the cooling resulting from installation of the pan and exhaust wrap, and saw you were getting 30-40 degree temp drops on earlier model mid engines. Considering an early X mas gift to myself here, especially at that price.

I track out at Circuit of the Americas. It's definitely a throttle heavy track with 100+mph through a lot of it, and the front and back straights are long, hitting 145+mph. This is definitely a place to test the performance of your car.

Wow, definitely sounds like a good place to test the effectiveness of the new part. Like you, too deep into my 718S to swap out. Besides, really love the car. Have learned simply keeping oil temps cooler keeps motor from losing HP. Good luck, mate.

Thanks! BRS reached out and they're some awesome people! Might see some interesting stuff in the next couple of months :-)

Sweet! Think I’m going to call to chat with them and snag a new pan myself. 2021 could be a wee bit faster......

Got the car back and talked to the installer for a while. They said everything fits well under the stock engine cover; but is definitely closer than the stock pan, which is to be expected . They were a little confused by the pickup extension at first. They said it just presses on, over an o-ring; there's no threads or anything. Overall they said it was pretty easy.

Just thought I'd post that since there were some questions on how easy it was to install on the 718forum. Cheers.

Thanks Grif. That’s really good stuff to know. Will relay to John and Chasen at SP. Here’s to cool runnings at COTA.

Alright everyone, track day 1 of 2 completed with the oil pan. Here's the results.

Did the oil pan completely stop limp mode? No. I did hit parts of laps in two different sessions where it limp moded. However, it did not hit limp mode nearly as much as I had in previous track days. I got 2 complete sessions with no limp mode, and 2 sessions with limp mode toward the end of the session; but it would recover temporarily in between. Previously it would limp mode fairly easily, and stay there. Today was a pretty cold as well, with air intake temperatures fifty degrees below the last track day I got access logs for.

I've got accessport logs for today if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the info, glad she ran a little cooler, Grif. Mine gets installed Monday. Buttonwillow in Jan or Feb. Will keep you posted. You’re running a Cobb, is that right?
