The one I ordered with red leather and gold wheels pictured above will be sitting on the showroom floor at Hennessy Porsche in Atlanta until they swap the engine.

Oh gosh, sorry to hear that. Maybe something a little closer so I can at least drive down and back on the same day (i.e. NY, CT, NH, VT, RI).

Book a driving session in a 4.0 718 at PECATL, fly down, and make a day of it.

Here's one in Ramsey

https://www.lamborghiniparamus.com/u...df93378e78.htm

The one I found which I filmed above, was in a specialty dealer. It was a 911 of course, but the color is the same and seeing it in person was helpful. To my eye, it was the same as the videos and pics. Meaning, it's different in different light and angles. It looks gray at times and dark green at times. It was all good. And hte metallic really helped the color. To me the Cayman looks best in silvers/grays/and yes, AvGreen. I just like what those shades do for the lines. Don't get me wrong, on my short list was also Lava and Yellow. I was all over the map.

Trying to decide on a colour for my CGTS, and went to see an Aventurine 992 at a semi-local dealer. To my surprise they also had an Aventurine Boxster right next to it, even with the wheels GTS comes with as stock! Still a bit undecided even after seeing the colour in person, but certainly would be different to the sea of black/white/silver that all new cars seem to be. Seeing the combo of aventurine and satin black wheels together did confirm that IMO it works better with silver or aurum wheels, or even platinum.

I have yet to see a color on the 911 that doesn't look good. It's one of those rare designs that looks good nearly no matter what color you throw on it. I once saw a Boxster in Agate Grey and was taken with how well it worked and then disappointed when I eventually saw it on a Cayman. So my advise is not to invest in any color until you have seen it in person on the car of your choice. Just because it may look good on a 911 or Boxster does not mean it will translate to your liking on a Cayman.

Yeah, agreed, it would be a lot better to see it on a Cayman, even better if it had the Sport Design kit as it really changes the look at the front. Out of my current shortlist of Aventurine Green, Shark Blue, Guards Red and Gentian Blue, I've only ever seen Guards Red on a 718 Cayman (a GTS, fortunately) - and it did look excellent. Unfortunately the few Caymans that are at dealerships around here are either black, silver or white..
