No one wants manual transmission 718!

LOL... Sorry but PDK all the time!
After driving 44 years with a manual and still driving a track car with a manual, I'm all PDK now because it is simply better in traffic and way better, faster and safer on the track.

Yes it’s better in traffic and yes it’s better/faster on the track, but better isn’t always better.

MT for the road. MT for the track. MT for daily work commute. PDK for the going a little quicker at the track. PDK if you have leg/health issues. PDK for 2+ hours of stop and go traffic on daily work commute...that said, I GT4 twice a week to work 110mi. round trip between two beltways. 😊

True driving enthusiast prefer manual transmissions. True driving enthusiast spend time on car forums. Casual drivers prefer Autos. Casual drivers don't participate on online forums. Or, less than 10% of drivers prefer manuals. Less than 10% of drivers participate in online forums. They're the same group.

I think I'll get one with PDK too....they are such a deal one can afford two of them....I suspect on the track they are great fun (PDK) but I also suspect, in everyday driving, it would be less entertaining.

I have hip issues so PDK for me for the one I drive several times a week. When driving aggressively it does a far, far better job that I could of managing the gears but it isn't as involving as a manual and If I could afford two 718's I would be sorely tempted to get one with a manual. I learned to drive on a manual and for many years all of my sports cars were manual only so I do miss rowing my own gears from time to time. But for my commute and especially for longer drives the PDK is the better, more comfortable choice. I'm just glad Porsche gives us two superlative options!

Also, I believe being So Cal cars plays a big factor as not many people want a manual in So Cal traffic.

Nice... I looked at numerous 718's to get the MT and less is more spec that I wanted in chalk....couldn't be more pleased with the search/wait and end result.
