Default Brake fluid flush

Bought a new 2018 Cayman. In service date was 10/18. Went in for one year service, 5500 miles, dealer said I needed break flush based on production date, not based on in service date. True or false?

what was production date? I would do a brake fluid flush at least once every two years for a street car

Thanks for the reply. Sept 2017. This is Porsche number 7 for me and I do flushEd after two years. This one sat in inventory for a full year. I know that the fluid deteriorates over time but, if the car sits idle...

Sitting doesn't mater. Brake fluid is hyrdroscopic. It will 'pull' moisture through the seals.

Do you track the car? Do you regularly brake at the limits? If not, I think flushing the fluid is WAY excessive. Just my opinion, for whatever it's worth.

The dealer quoted $400 far more than I paid for a flush two years ago for my 2008 997. Called a reputable Porsche repair shop, advertises in PCA mag quoted much less. Thanks again for your advice.
