Default Cayman fuel tank question...

For those in the USA or Canada, do you know if most dealers order their Caymans with the extended range fuel tank?

If not standard in most dealers' orders do people that build their own Cayman take the option?

I see in the build section there is an option for the extended range fuel tank ($140 USD/$160CAD).

It increases the tank capacity by 2.6 USG or 10 litres. Seems like a very cheap Porsche option to get.

Until you posted, I didn't even realize that was an option on the 718. My GTS was dealer ordered and it does not have the extended range tank, and for all the cars I looked at, I never have see it as a listed option. I have it on my GT3, but at ~19-20mpg it needs it. I don't feel that way in the Cayman.

Only the base has the smaller tank, and therefore the optional larger tank. The S & GTS come standard with the larger tank.

Interesting, I was thinking it was like the extended tank (23.7 gallons) in the GT3. Odd they didn't make all models with the 16.9 tank standard.

Thank you I had not noticed this when building the car on the web site.
