Had all of the wheels off for new tires and since it is a 2018 flushed the brake system with the MOTIVE unit as noted above. Pentosin LV was the fluid of choice. No difference than changing the fluid in any car I've owned.
I did use 20 psi in the motive and that worked perfectly and used a tad less than 1 liter. The system did have a some bubbles at each caliper and I did the inside bleed nipple on each Brembo then the outside. This was the first bleed @ 12,225 and two years. Base model.
There was some small pinhead flakes in the fluid too and I've heard others say they've seen the same thing...only in the first few inches of clear hose when cracking the nipple open. What it is I have no idea....something in the fluid coalescing at temp?
When finished the peddle was firm and operates as designed.
IOW there is nothing special to doing this job.

Hello, is 1.5L of Motul RBF660 enough for full brake fluid flush/change for base 718? TQ.

I'll be doing this soon on a new (to me) 718. I have the motive bleeder and it worked great on my previous Golf R and RS3. Huge time saver.

Get the power bleeder and DIY. I have one and did a flush on Jeep Wrangler and VW Jetta GLI Autobahn.
I'll flush my Cayman this spring/summer.

So does anyone have any insight into why Porsche says, “Do not change the brake fluid yourself”? They bold the not. It’s like this in the manual for my 992 also. It’s really strange from a couple of perspectives: These cars are meant to be tracked, hence brake fluid flush is a given frequent necessity. And for them to only use the bold not for brake fluid and not give any explanation or details is just bizarre.

Well, some of us have one of those pressurized brake fluid changer but a danger of getting under the car to bleed and home mechanic bungle it up, is probably why Porsche says NOT.

Nope. No (brake fluid specific) idea. I looked it up in the MY’22 Good to Know app and you are correct. In the MY’15 content there is no such admonition. (MY’22 718, MY’15 991, no material difference in brake systems.)

There’s nothing interesting in the WSM about brake flushes. No magic, no PIWIS, nothing except pressure bleeding etc.

But they don’t say anything about not changing your own oil. Obviously you need to get under the car for that. Why did they only give this warning about brake fluid?

I am guessing because most don't have the capability to flush the ABS part of the system.

The WSM procedure does not specify that as part of the process.

The Porsche tech will follow the WSM. The Porsche tech isn’t going to use the PIWIS to flush the ABS as part of a flush unless directed to do so by the Service advisor.

As a follow up, I ignored the warning in the OM and changed my brake fluid last week. It was straightforward as in my other cars.

How much fluid PER WHEEL should we pull to completely flush system?
