As a compliment to my 3rs, I’d honestly rather have the spyder. I could push my dealer for a speedster and MAYBE get one. It isn’t appealing enough to me for its MSRP and it doesn’t offer me as much diversity away from the 3rs (or handful of other 911’s I own). When it comes to a drop-top, 981 spyder was one of my fav all-time cars I’ve ever owned. Hopefully 718 has a similar impression; if not, I’ll swap it back to a 981. Money-no-object, last spyder one of my fav cars, (including owning(ed) a cgt, 7-4.0, speciale). While not nearly the same level of high-impact drive experience as that lineup, the overall ownership experience of a 981 spyder was prob best car I’ve ever owned. The fact it was one of the cheaper toy cars I’ve owned in a while only sweetened the deal.

I want them both. But, I'd pick the spyder.
I think the spyder looks better
It can be used on normal roads. (the speedster is not a track car anyway)
It's a cubic butt ton of money less.
It will be more fun to drive.
Easy for me. Honestly, if they were priced both the same, I'd still get the spyder for the reasons above.

My local dealer got one speedster and got $120K ADM. Played three customers against each other to get that amount, pretty sad. Hope the new mid engine vette changes attitudes.

Gave back my allocation to dealer for speedster and getting a spyder instead. Prefer the looks of spyder and couldn’t see the xtra 200 would cost for speedster being worth it for type of driving I do. Also not a collector.
