@COBB Tuning Do you have dyno results on 91 octane and what's the installation processes? Is it a simple upload via the COBB handheld tuner?

Here's what we have for Stage 1 91 on an S:

Porsche 718 (982) S

Typical Stage1 vs Stock Power:718 (982) S 2.5T Peak GainsMax GainsStage1 91+4.10% HP, +12.01% TQ
+24.36% HP, +23.88% TQ Stage1 93+5.26% HP, +13.17% TQ
+29.88% HP, +28.86% TQ Results may vary As Tested In-House

Peak Gains are measured as the absolute maximum value between the highest points of two plots.
Max. Gains are measured as the average maximum value between the highest and lowest point of two plots.

As for installation- the ECU will need to be sent in to be unlocked, which we provide a specially designed box for, along with 2nd Day Air shipping for all shipments, and once the unlock is completed then the Accessport will install/uninstall/change maps directly via the OBDII port just like every other Accessport application. For additional details on the ECU process, we've created a great how-to guide here:

Along with vehicle specific ECU removal instructions here:

Very cool!! My 2019 CGTS order just locked for changes. I hope to buy the 91 octane ECU tune. Would like to see verdict from other 718 owners who use Cobb ECU

I have the tune only on my base 6 speed Cayman. I am very pleased with the results (I also have a cobb with pdk tune on my 991 C4S), I will be installing an exhaust and downpipe as soon as AWE finishes my exhaust.

Very nice. What made you choose Cobb over other vendors? I had APR on an Audi and loved it. Modest, but very noticeable power increase. Exactly what I want for my CGTS. I had a Max951 on a 944 Turbo and while it produced tremendous power, the exhaust smelled.

Can't really go wrong with COBB or APR. I know APR is currently working on their 718 calibration.

I have had many different type of tunes over the years and with this car I wanted to be able to flash the car back myself if need be. Also the cobb tune, though it did not show as much gains as some other tuners, (I'm guessing they left some room for custom tuning), it was enough for my needs. As far as I know there is no dyno for the tune on 93 octane with an exhaust and downpipe, so I am not sure where I'll be when that goes in next week.

Why don't companies run 0-60/ 1/4 mile tests to prove to the consumer how much their tunes help?? I don't understand..

Because there are too many variables to make any kind of real world comparison worthwhile.

No different than car & driver, Road & Track, etc. etc.. The general public knows there always will be variables, that doesn't mean they don't care to know and to get a general idea.
