Default 2019 Boxster S Allocations

Hi everyone. Brand new member here. I put a deposit down for my first ever Porsche a few weeks ago (718 Boxster S, M/T). I missed out on getting a 2018 though and have since been (im)patiently waiting word that my dealer has gotten his allocations for 2019 and the order is officially with the factory. He just let me know yesterday that he'll be getting his allocations on 12 May. Entirely possible he just doesn't want me to call and figures it'll happen by then, but it's the closest thing I have to a date. Just thought I'd let everyone know it sounds like they're almost out.

Shopping around for a 2019 Boxster GTS. All my local dealers already have allocations for July production. Only one said he didn't but then he checked and he had one.

Ahhh! Could be they’re releasing the GTS allocations before the S.... or it could be the folks at Porsche Marin aren’t the ballers they claim to be

Who knows. I wouldn't put it past a dealer to make up a story to sell a car although all the stores were consistent. Did you negotiate a discount? That's what I'm trying to do right now. I'm getting lots of stories about GTS and ordering a brand new model year reduces available discounts.

They offered me a discount on my original build about a month ago. He noted then though that he probably couldn't get a 2018 and he'd have to wait to submit it as a 2019. Not knowing what the incremental cost was to be he said they'd honor the agreed to discount plus an additional $1,000 from whatever the 2019 pricing ended up being. Worked out good. Just anxious to hear it's actually on order.

We originally had a CS build defined at the end of 2017 but the dealer wasn't able to get an "S" build slot so we moved to a GTS in order to guarantee a slot. I'm happy we did as the build is almost complete & we should be driving it in a couple months.

I just placed my order for a 2019 GTS. I decided to wait an extra month for a 2019 mainly for resale value. The email containing the order information was the best email I've received in a long time. Now I have to wait 4+ months

So your dealer really get his allocation? Mine has confirmed the build and says I'm "Locked and loaded when he gets his," which he expects to be this weekend. I'm buying through Marin, CA. Not sure why they'd get theirs later than others but then, buying a Porsche is a new experience for me. Congrats on your GTS though!!! Going to be a tough wait for sure.

Amazing! (And long!) Can I ask what part of the country you're in?

I'm in Texas although I did talk with Porsche of Beverly Hills and they have an August allocation available.
