Default Thanks to Cactus I just lost my A$$!!

And I like it. Cactus called me the other night from the Melissa Etheridge concert (I don't judge) and told me once again that my car would look better with the TT tail gone. I really thought about this and since I had the stock decklid already done all I needed needed to do was bolt it on. I have to say he was right and it shows the *** of the car off better without the tail. In hindsight I should of removed the basket handle, but kept it on anyway. I don't love or hate it. A set of bumperplugs would fix that right up if I wanted it gone. I am also going badgeless. So thanks to the Prickly One, his Birkenstocks, hemp sweater and friendship bracelet for a great idea. Here are some pics of the car with the TT tail and without the TT tail. Comments welcome.

As I said over the summer, it looks better this way. A wing on a cab is over the top. Now is there a way to lose the towel rack?

Lol...

And I agree... Looks much cleaner without the wing, top up or down.

I hear you on the brake light, but like I said I don't have + or - feeling for it. jhummel68 saw it today and the 1st thing he said was "You kept the basket handle?" Anyway, I like this look a little better as it shows the lines of the car.

TT wings are cheeseball. It looks way better now but will even look better without the knitting loom on the back.

I have to admit, I'm not a fan of side mouldings and Turbo tails on NB's, however, IMHO I thought your car in that color totally pulled off both, no problem. Having said that, I also think the stock lid looks great, basket handle and all. Removing it would be a cleaner look, but no third brakelight. There's someone that makes an aftermarket spoiler with a built in LED strip that I've seen, but not sure if it's fixed or moveable. I also think a C2S split-grill would work really well with the Turbo nose and side skirts, but don't let me spend your hard earned money.... because I will ...

Alf:

I hear you. I am liking it better as well. At the body shop today all the young kids were telling me to leave it on and the guys my age said it looked better without. Hmmmmmm what can I buy if I sell the wing? Any suggestions are appreciated.

There is only one "logical" answer....

sell the turbo wing...let's say $1,000 ?

and buy a C4s for $42,000 ? (oops... that's $42,000 - 1,000 = $41,000 !)

makes sense to me.

I looked into the split grill option and decided to stay with the stock configuration. Being that the grill is black, top is black and interior is black it kind of pulled it all together. I did have the shop paint the grill a matte black. the rear quarters show better without the tail.

I too like the basket handle (also no comment on Melissa Etheridge though! ) - I think its one more thing that is unique about the 993s. no confusion with 996s or 964s. meanwhile - I'm sure we can all help you spend the $1000 you get for your TT tail.

Leave it just as it is. Beautiful car. And the tail was too heavy looking, especially with the top down.

I like it a whole lot. By the way, I'd definitely keep it clean and leave the Carrera logo off as well.
