Thanks Jon!

Now, for the alternative method. Does anyone have the tool or has anyone ever made one that worked? I'd like to get the diameter of the loop and I'll try to make one.

When I get a chance later, I'll get after it. We are still house hunting

Can someone please check to see what size socket will fit snug enough to get a bite on the door lock ****?

12pt 32mm socket works without causing nasty scars and does not need a lot of force pressing it on to the ****.

Alternatively find a small-medium sized child or anorexic adult and try using his/her arm - I am sure you can bribe them with something - a blast around the local twisties perhaps ?

This tool will work on any window but I reccomend using it on the rear quarter window or passenger door glass. It has a 100% succes* rate when used as directed.

*no warranty expressed or implied. Some re-assembly required.

Actually the 1/4 glass is cheaper than the rubber seals.... in a pinch that is exactly what I would break .....already did that once self locking doors on an 86 !

Default UPDATE!!

Well, we were able to get the car off the ground higher which allowed a better angle to get my entire arm up through the hole. I could get a pair of channel locks on the turn **** and bingo!! Rocket is free again with minimal damage! I re-sealed the plate onto the rear passenger foot board and she's good as new!

I'm going to ask Randy V to delete this thread since it could be used against us.

Thanks all for the help and yes the spare key is out of the car!

GREAT! I locked the keys in a buddy's 928. Now I get to try one of these techniques.

This was WAY too simple. A couple of tugs in the right area, button came up. Since this has already been posted I'm not real concerned about teaching any wouldbe thieves anything new, but it was surprising how easy and quick it was. No need to even wedge the window. My tool:

Roger is right - as usual
The passenger side quarter window is real quick and easy to take out. It can be a bear replacing the friggin outer trim is the worse part.

OK...this is scary. I always thought the 928 would be hard to break into.

three reasons I never lock my 928,

1, I keep nothing in it that anyone could steal that is worth more than the parts they woudl break getting into the car. So why wind up with scratches and broken glass, and a stolen radio or CD's

2, if they want to steal it, they are going to steal it regarding if it is locked or not.

3, prevents me from locking my keys in the car!

Nope - it is unfortunate, but we break into cars often - to get kids out of the heat. Some of the guys go for the "let me break this window" approach.
My favorite tool is two hangers tagged together - that, with a wooden wedge, can normally reach across the seats and pull the handle, or often just hit the electric lock switch.
My favorite time is when the sheriff already has his fancy tool jammed in the door

If the sheet metal "cover for lock" has been removed it is quite easy. Besides real bad guys just break a window..... it is not THEIR car !
