New ride height - Monster Truck height!
So I just switched out my 17" cup wheels (7 and 9) for 18" Carrera III's (8 and 10).
I was still at the SUV height, but now it looks and feels like I'm at monster truck height!
Hopefully I'll be able to get the new HD's and springs on in the next week or two.
I'm a little confused about the offset on front wheels. The back of the wheels say ET 37 but outside by the valve stem is stamped 57.
Isn't the stamp on the valve stem the wheel bed width and offset?
This pic really makes it look hight!!!

I plan of going to RoW standard or maybe a little lower if I can.

This raises a question I've often wondered about ......
No matter whether you have 17" or 18" wheels, shouldn't the outside diameter of the tyre be the same for both wheel sizes? Surely it has to be this way so that the speedo readings aren't affected.

On the newer cars, they seem to have shifted towards 26". Have to accomodate those high-fashion big wheels somehow and you really shouldn't go below a 3.5" sidewall on the street.

It's pretty tight in there right now. I took if for a test drive before I decided to leave them on. Drove it to work this morning and didn't seem to have any issues.
I do plan on adding 5-7mm spacers on the front to be safe.

I got it straight from a factory chassis engineer. The 997 is the first change ever from the first 911 tire height of ~25"
Why?, they can run more power and torque w/ more precise control of individual wheel speeds through the chassis w/ the taller tires.
They compensated w/ gearing.

I don't have any data on those wheels, What are the o/s's by the valve stems? & widths?
Every time I see you sig I think of these guys
