Default Need 356 expertise / resto in Dallas

A good friend has a 1965 356c with a hole in the engine block due to a thrown rod. It hasn't run for at least 20 years. It's his fathers' car, title and original purchase still in hand. The son is my friend, and his goal is to get the car running and possibly restored so that his father can drive it around. Father is in his 70's, so this whole project can't take a long time.

Any experts or links or contacts I can have him talk to?

Have your friend join the 356 Registry. Ask the questions there.

Default Al Zim is near DFW and has a well earned reputation

Check out his website. He can get that engine rebuilt and get your friends Dad back on the road (and they may be about the same age). Tom

Thanks all. My friend did join the registry. He also did find a local Porsche guy right there in Carrollton, TX. He's not sure he will be using him just yet, but time will tell. I'll give him the tip on Zims.

It turns out, even though the car has been in Cananda for 20 years, it's titled in Michigan, so his concern about getting the car across the border and having to re-title, etc. is no more.
