Default Possible Speedster Rust Bucket Purchase

Going to look at a 64C, total redo, wrong engine...getting it for next to nothing. In conversation, I was told that there is also a 57 Speedster that they'd be interested in selling. Same condition/rusted, wrong engine.

I'm buying the 64C to build a fun but inexpensive car...will probably stick a 912 or 914 engine, two bucket seats, no trim, etc. I don't have funds to redo a Speedster, but...speculative investment? Maybe buy it and park it.

What would you guys offer/pay for the Speedster?

I'd guess it's worth 50-80k depending on condition

For a Speedster rust bucket hulk, that price range is probably reasonable.

Perhaps the deal is already done, but buying a rusty Speedster as a speculative investment is a great way to get your hat handed to you. Especially if you don't know what you are doing.

Thank you for the feedback, I still have not made the deal. It looks like I'll be buying the C for myself but passing on the speedster...prices that are quoted above are too high for me and I don't want to try to slime my way into the deal.
