Possible barnd find..
Short story, I have a '89 928 S4, which my dad loves.. the dad of a distant relative of his died and left his farm to said relative. In which is a 356, dont know the year yet, all I know is it started two years ago and they have the original books and manuals. The person the farm was willed to is, to put it lightly; "not all there"... Asked my dad if he wants to buy it but me not knowing 356's is asking me what to look for...
From looking at it doesnt appear to have any prior accidents, of course it is not in great shape...
What should we look for specifically? Here are some pics my dad sent today
Dont even as yet know what year it is or mileage..

Hello; Your best bet is to go to http://porsche356registry.org, they have lots of information and resources.

Agree its either a T6 B (1962-63) or a C (1964-65). If it has drum brakes its the former, if disk brakes the latter.
356 Registry has lots of resources.
Pick up "Buying, Driving, and Enjoying the Porsche 356" by James Schrager, good reference.

Agreed, no question buy it. Looks to be a "C" based on center of dash. Popular to many as it is the last 356, has disc brakes and other upgrades. Looks to have some rust on lower edge of door (also common) which may indicate other rust (also common).

My gut tells me this is a raging steal.
