Default 356C Value?

Stumbled across a 356C barnfind. Solid floors, solid long. , original paint/int. Motor is free, but hansnt been run in years. Original engine. Its all there, needs a few things here and there, some of the window rubber could be better... things like that....

is $10-12K a fair price?
a screaming deal?
or a rip-off?

Sounds fair to me and perhaps even a good deal depending on actual condition.

hmmm.. sounds like if its not in horrible shape rust wise then its likely worth $10k or so.

I'm not going to do a full resto on it... just would like to make it safe, get it running and have the 356 ownership expereince for not a TON of money and perhaps recoup my money when I choose to sell.

will be doing some more research on the car and will be poking around its potentially rusty bits soon.

If it looks basically solid and in decent shape, I'd say it is likely to be a screaming deal. That's real cheap for anything decent, even if not running. Do keep in mind that a complete quality engine rebuild may cost $10K. But still it is probably hard to go wrong at that price.

As a guide (and I have been shopping for 6 months) you cannot buy a driver 356C for $20k. I'm talking advertised cars here. I know of one that was for sale recently and it was $25k and it was a little rough.

Thanks for the feedback.
I'll be looking at the car closer here soon. I'd love to revive the car, be able to enjoy it and at least not lose money on the deal if not pass on a good deal to the next owner in the future.

Original paint is highly desirable. How much rust there is and the condition of the body really drive the value.

agreed. original paint is the bonus here. 10-12k is great value in such a find.
(not like one can walk away from such treasure anyways)

what color combo?
