Default Too much light?

Regarding a 65 SC, would it be overkill for 128 fogs as well as Marchal/NLA lights?

Does anyone have a similar set up? Can you provide some pics?

Can the car with 12v conversion handle all these lights?

Or is this simply a ridiculous idea and just stick with the 128 fogs?

Thank you.

Sounds like overkill to me! Are you looking for light, or do you just like the look? If you haven't already done so, get the headlight relay from Joe Leoni and put H4's in your headlights - that will make a world of difference!

Can never have too much light. Then again, I live in the country so I see a street light every few miles....

I remember one time we were driving in the '65 to Monterey. We stopped for lunch with some friends in Solvang and by the time we got back on the road it was much later than we had wanted it to be. Driving on the 101 at speed, in the dark, in a construction zone, that went on and on with only 356 headlights lighting the way [read: Dim even with a 12 volt system] was quite the adventure.

We have Marchal Driving lights on our '58.

128's are below the bumper and Marchal's are usually mounted above the bumper. It might look a little 'busy' unless you are going for the rally look.

personally i like the rallye look I found my over the bumper driving lights (carrello) work well on country roads at night. I would get similar (marchal) for a tub if i had one.

where are you located and what kind of driving? if youre in teh country i say do it. if youre in city, no need, the 128s should be fine (or go with one or the other but not both). my 12V 912 (similar to 356 12Vs) can keep up with the juice, but i would recomend using an optima or somthing strong and reliable.

I'm a city boy and I still believe that you can't have too much light....

I think the factory would agree. I know its not on a 356, but my RS was delivered with driving lights up high and fogs down low...

If you're going to a 12v conversion, run a relayed headlight setup thats converted to H4 bulbs in a Hella or Civie 7" housing. 90/100W Philips Narva bulbs should do the trick. Only do this with new heavy gauge wiring.
