Default identify this color

Hello,

Can anyone identify the color of this 356 with certainty?
Or know where I can find out?

I've got an old Datsun 2000 roadster being restored and I'm considering having it painted this color (w/ red interior). Thanks!

Thanks JoAnne. I'm starting to think it may be a non-standard color. The Auratium green looks a little cooler, whereas this color looks like it's mixed with a little cream or beige with the green.

Baby poop green? Sorry, I couldn't pass that up. I actually love the color on that car.

Shannon - do you know it is a 356 oem color? that's a "pre A", not many std color choices back then. I'd send the photo to John Willhoit (or other 356 paint expert) & ask them if they recognize it. or, give the photo to your painter & have him shoot some samples until you like the result. good luck!

That's not Auratium green. Pre-A colors are unlike any of the later ones. And much cooler, I think. It may not be a Factory color at all.

A warm welcome is due towards Gordon Maltby, Ed of 356 Registry & author of "Porsche 356 & RS Spyders" (highly recommended... be careful responding "so whaddaya know?" to his posts). Gordon will find this forum high on enthusiasm, a portal for those new to 356s (esp coming over from the other Porsche forums herein), and filled w/ photos. Please forgive (or overlook) the occasional (& well-intentioned) critique of 356Talk - what would we do without it? Thanks for posting, HNY & cheers!

To follow up on this thread, another RL'er in the 993 forum was kind enough to email the owner of the car/blog that KoenigDerElfin pointed me too, which is in French. Apparently the color is an old VW color, L346, a.k.a Mango Green. Mystery Solved! Now I just need to decide whether it's a color I can live with on my old Datsun. I hope I don't get banned from this board, but here is a photoshopped image of what I'm considering (If I don't go w/ this color, I'll be going w/ Metalic Silver).
