For Sale: 1961 T5 B Roadster
For Sale: Reluctantly I need to sell my beloved 356 for a great business venture. As you can tell by my gallery and posts, I love this car. If all goes well with this venture, I'll someday be able to acquire two 356's of my dreams to replace this baby: a '59 convertible d (Meissen blue/red int/oatmeal carpet) and (sorry Mother) Bad Max!! This is a sad day for me but I have been really lucky to have owned such a great car.
Details:
#'s matching 1961 356 Roadster. #89062 engine #604799 color #6007 Heron Gray. Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche.
Everything works: lights, turn signals, horn, high beams, etc.
total miles: unknown.
Body "restored" in the early 80's by unkown shop. This is not a PCA parade winner but the car is a very nice driver. There is no signs of battery box or pan issues but there are small bubbles on the lower side of the passenger door. I decided to leave well enough alone (body wise) in my 6+ years of ownership and enjoy the car. Windshield frame has some pitting but never corrected since i was too busy driving the car. Gaps are not perfect. Top works as one would expect. Top to windshield rubber needs to be replaced. New boot.
2 sets of wheels: after market chrome set with radials & date stamped orginal wheels with bias period repro coker michelin tires.
Motor: Normal car rebuilt & upgraded by Bruce Baker in 2003. Shasta big bore piston's installed, Competition Engineering did all machine work, Vic rebuilt tranny, front disc brakes (original parts go with the car), replaced all bushings and all rubber lines, etc. I have all of my receipts since owning the car. Full flow oil filter mounted inside rear left quater panel - not visible from above. Rebuilt and properly jetted Zenith's
Interior: Excellent shape and looks great. Seats re-stuffed for comfort. Reclining seats. Period correct Moto Lita Wheel on car but original wheel (& horn ring!!!) go with the car.
Since owning the car, I had driven her from the Philly area to:
Charleston (ECH)
Tampa (PCA Parade)
Asheville (ECH)
Blue/Gray Events - One 1st place for B-Open.
Williamsburg (ECH)
Watkins Glen - Zippo Vintage Grand Prix 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007.
She has won many peoples choice PCA (non-parade) shows. So much so that she has been "banned" by other folks so they might have a chance to win.
See my gallery for additional photos.
Car has been stored in my A/C & Heated garage since 2002.
You could drive this car anywhere. The motor pulls strong and will run all day. Fly to PA and drive her home - Yes, the heat works too.
I have an offer from a broker but he will send the car across the pond.
Keep her here and drive her!
No tire kickers or unreasonable offers - PLEASE.

Just notice the above Tony!!! I would LOVE for you to own Bad Max one day. I know we can't buy him back at the price that he sold for the last time. Big $$$$. I guess we fixed him just right He is now "living" in the burbs of Chicagoland. Highland Park, me thinks.......

Shoot - I don't have a 997...!! I have my 993 C4 with now 143,000 miles - bought for $14K or so 4 years ago or so (OK - I had to rebuild the engine, tranny, etc..) and my daily driver - Jen's '89 964 C4 and our '68 911L...
If I could ever - and I mean ever - own a 356 like Tony's - I'd do it. It is simply outstanding... I am in awe.. What a beautiful Porsche... There is just "something" about these cars.... Tony's, from what I can see in all his pics - is a lifelong dream.
Simply beautiful....
Thanks Tony.
