Can someone identify this color?

I think its Auratium green - saw that on an original unrepainted A coupe years ago - absolutely one of the prettiest colors ever put on a Porsche 356. Sort of like the Rain Forest Green used on Boxsters but its a non-metallic color.

That car is now in the hands of Andres ("alarti"), who bought it from Greg D. - freeing up Andres' B Coupe, which is now in my hands!
Good first place to check for color references is Willhoit Restoration:

Thank you for the link. I am guessing Fjord Green as well based on what the larger chips look like on my monitor. Can you confirm this, since you seem to know about the car?
Thanks.

Just posted. I should offer more detail. Fjord green is a complex mixture of green and blue, shifting in tone with every change in the light. It is well named for the color of ocean water lapping the shore of mountain fjords. It was only available from 1957-1961 and was an uncommon color. Usually came with light brown or brown interior - a great combination.

Yes that was my car..now Andres. PErsonally, I think the color is fugly ;-) Then again, this picture was the best possible rendition, in sunlight it looked way lighter ! And in my garage next to a poo brown early 911, the combo was vomit inducing ;-)
I miss it a little, still...

My Speedster is still deep in restoration, but the body and paint are done. Here are a couple of photos, one outside in the sun and one inside under artificial lighting. The color was triple matched from original samples. As you can see, it can look relatively light or dark. Yes, we're restoring it GT style.

To show you just how different Fijord Green looks at different times of the day........... This picture was taken at high noon last Monday at the Parade. You can really see the blue tones in the paint.
Fijord Green is my favorite 356 color. You have to see it in person because you really can not tell in digital pictures sent across the internet:

I tell you, that's a color that makes regular sighted people experience what color blind people see ;-)
It's anywhere from dark green to light blue, depending on light, the mix is oddly disturbing at times... I like it best in overcast days myself...
I'm glad it's out there still, because it's much better than another red 356, but I never did get used to it and I sold it instead of repainting an original cardex spec... Nice Speedster though !
