Default 1960 Super 90 Coupe Value?

I will be looking at a 1960 Super 90 Coupe in the morning. 80,000 original miles. Seller claims virtually no rust. Evidently, interior is scorched. Motor, gearbox and body intact. Seller has owned it since 1965 and it has been indoors for nearly 20 years. Asking price--$2000.00. I about dropped over.

Have done my homework as much as possible. Any thoughts and/or last minute tips from all you gurus before I see it in the morning?

Thanks for any advice..... Will take pictures for posting....

From what you say, absolutely $2,000 sounds like a complete steal.

What you really need to decide if what you want is a project. It sounds like it has been stored, so not running. You will need to work over the engine, possibly tranny, possibly rebuild both. Interior easy but $3-5K+. Paint? New paint is expensive. Lots and lots of other things that can add up - brakes, suspension, wheels, tires, tidbits, electrical, chrome, glass, instruments, gas tank, ad nauseum. When you are all done, even with a "steal" of an initial purchase price, it may have more in it than its worth.

Still, if its a straight, pretty rust-free body, its a steal at $2K.

Please report back as to what you find and take pictures if you can. Sounds like too good to be true, but you never know...a car after sitting for 20 years with no rust is not easily attained unless you're in the middle of the desert, which it doesn't appear you are

They are still out there though so I'd love to see someone get a real great deal, but walk in with your eyes open and plan on spending a good bit of change to get her running correctly again as Jim said above. Good luck!

I hope you bought the car....356's that are have been sitting in a lake for a few years go for more than twice that amount. I can't think of the last time I saw a 356 that was offered for less than $4000, and that was a pretty rough car.
